Works smoothly even on iPhone 4S

IMPORTANT! The video recording loop is optimized as much as possible.

Hints:
- Viewing angle in 640x480 resolution is wider than in 1280x720 or 1920x1080
- Device less heated and drains the battery more slowly in case of using non HD resolution - 640x480 for example
- When noticed something important - just tap the center of the screen. Current clip will be saved in the Favorites and will not be automatically deleted
- To make recording start on app startup or wakeup - specify startup action in settings OsmAnd DVR
- Usage of power saving mode increases life of the battery
- You can use WiFi connection, to transfer the files to your PC. Speed of copying is around of 1,2 megabytes per second
- With WiFi connection you can copy not only OsmAnd DVR files, but Camera Roll files also
- It is possible to copy files to PC via iTunes and USB cable. Files can be found in "Apps" -> "File Sharing" section
- Since Apple Maps can operate in background - you can use OsmAnd DVR together with turn-by-turn navigation (iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 only with iOS 6.1 and higher). Just start Apple Maps and navigation. Then - start OsmAnd DVR

OsmAnd DVR together with your iPhone is a great tracking device in your car

NOTE: OsmAnd DVR will not perform recording in the background since iOS has strong limitation about that. No one app is allowed to recording the video when you put app on hold (by pressing Home button) or it goes to background because of incoming call, for example.

However, OsmAnd DVR has a great feature which allows to recover recording the video automatically, when OsmAnd DVR become active again.

This app is, by far, the BEST car cam app on the market. User friendly, full of awesome features, & undeniably stable. Absolutely love it! Thx!

Im liking the app so far. I like the fact that the screen automatically dims once recording. Embedding the map of the route is a nice feature. There is a small issue though when I switch from 640x480 to 1280x720, it seems to delete all my videos in 640 and will only store one video in 1280 at a time. Other than that, its a pretty decent app for under $5

The best there is no question, Ive recently purchased 3 other dash cam apps that are really bad, then I found this one, oh my what a difference this one renders your speed, time, position, a map, with options to adjust the opacity of the map overlay and so on. I was a little concerned if it was compatible with my iPhone 6s but it works flawlessly, so I bought the full version. Thanks to the devs for this one, Great work ! Just to update my review today June 11th 2016 Its still the best, feature packed dash cam available as I posted previously none of the other ones Ive found offer the features this one includes right out of the gate, the others are full of in app per chases and you end up paying for features that should be included with a functioning dash cam. Thanks.

I tested almost all of them on AppStore and this one is the best so far. Many features and options plus very clean and good looking interface. Worth 6 stars!

Some bad moments

Was isymdvr before. A Renamed App. Should be a Restore Purchase if you bought it before. Apple should look into this. Very Bad!

Really cool app, but hope that in nearest future will be implemented "route creation" like in navigators.

This is the old isymdvr app under a new name- I already paid for that app and now I have to buy it again? Not happy.

This guy changes the name of the app and the layout a little bit without adding new features then removed old version from the App Store and renames it to scan you into paying for the app all over again. I paid for this app twice so far and I dont havethe original isymdvr on my phone or computer anymore and since theyre not on the App Store anymore Im stuck paying for it a third time. Lets just say this will be the last time I get screwed by this guy. Good app but the developer is a straight up douche scamming people without providing new features.

Great 5 star app, uses a lot of battery so use while plugged in only. One star rating since the greedy Developer changed the original name of this app and stopped updates in order to get more $$$ from current users by forcing a "new" app purchase. This app used to be called isymDVR & isymDVR2, and I purchased the full version before... Unfair & bad business, Apple should fine or ban the developer from reposting any further rehashes of this same app with a simple name change.

The developer of iSymDVR is based in Crimea, which APPLE has BLOCKED all apps published from that area of the world. Google "Apple blocks developers in Crimea", there are literally thousands of news articles about it. The developer is not greedy, he was BLOCKED because of political BS, and there is no way of automatically letting previous owners of iSymDVR get this app for free, that only can happen when the original app is updated, which cant be because of the sanctions. Be grateful he re-released it at all. I support this guy for making literally the BEST dash cam app for iOS in the world, and its cheap on top of that. You all need to educate yourselves and stop looking like idiots.
